Our VeterinariansDr. Cheri Smith - Owner
|
Dr. Smith is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the NJVMA, the AVMA, AAHA, SAVM, the American Association of Feline Practicioners, and the American Veterinary Dental Society. She attends regular continuing education seminars to keep abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. Her three shih tzu's; "Henry", "Mickey" and "Carmelita"; travel with her to work every day and are considered her pride and joy.
Due to her special interest in veterinary dentistry, she has done extensive continuing education in advanced dentistry. Dr. Smith's desire is to relieve pets disease and pain that often go unnoticed by the untrained eye. She focuses on preventive care and the many options available today for pain control in pets.

Dr. John Ammeraal
|
Dr. Ammeraal worked in the food service industry while dreaming of turning his love of animals into a career. He graduated from Ohio State University undergrad and then Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the NJAVMA, AVMA and AAHA. Prior to joining the Whippany Veterinary Hospital team, he was employed at a 3-doctor small animal practice in NY State. Originally from Roxbury, he recently purchased a home in Boonton which he shares with his 3 rescued birds "Tiki", "Rita" and "Calypso", and his rescued island mixed breed dog "Lia". Dr. Ammeraal's special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and exotic animal medicine. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, golf, and riding his motorcycle.
